Miss Jill has been dancing and teaching in the Houston area for many years. She received a degree in History from Sam Houston State University with a minor in theatre and dance. Miss Jill performed in several shows at Six Flags Astroworld, including Monster Party and Arania’s Nightmare, and in the Super Bowl XXXVIII pre-game show with Willie Nelson and Aerosmith. She was also a member of the Sam Houston State Dance Company, and performed in many independent shows at Sam Houston. Jill has choreographed for a local dance company, as well as having her choreography featured in the student choreography show at Sam Houston, and acted as assistant choreographer for Sam Houston Theatre’s production of Smokey Joe’s Café, which took home several awards, including best choreography.
Since earning her degree Jill has worked with the Alley Theatre in Education and Community Outreach as an event organizer and a teaching artist in inner city schools. She is also a certified teacher in the areas of high school social studies and dance and has loved working in the classroom for the past 3 years. She founded Steppin’ Time Performing Arts Center in January 2008 in order to pursue a life-long goal of owning and operating her own dance studio.
